The Championship Training Log for Wrestling functions as a comprehensive training companion for wrestlers and their coaches. It goes beyond simply logging workouts, instead offering a structured roadmap to track key trends and habits that influence performance. This data empowers coaches and other sports professionals to make informed recommendations that support healthy training for peak achievement.
To the Wrestler, Coach or Parent,
Over 45 years of competitive wrestling and coaching experience has led me on a journey to learn and share information about our great sport all around the world!
At every level, I’ve found that the most successful wrestlers are not necessarily the ones with the greatest wrestling skills or natural athletic ability. The most successive wrestlers are the ones who understand their training. They understand how their bodies and their minds work together to get the most out of each day’s training. Understanding this harmony has largely been my life’s work.
Success in wrestling comes from many different qualities. Qualities such as sacrifice, self-discipline, self-confidence, hard work, a positive mental attitude, an open mind, and a willingness to learn. With this book you will take self-assessment tests, establish goals, become more confident, study your own habits (training, nutritional, strength, etc.), retain technique better, scout opponents and much more.
You’ll be on your way to developing the qualities you need to become your best!
The Championship Training Log is the product of decades of study, experience and development in these critical areas. You’ll also learn life long skills about time management and how your mind and body work together to help you reach your goals. You’ve taken a big step by committing your time and energy into using this training log. I still reference my high school training log (from over 35 years ago) to help recall techniques and ideas for the wrestlers and coaches I train today, as well as to think back on old memories and the journey.
Be confident that with the Championship Training Log, you are taking all the right steps toward being the best that you can be!
Sincerely, Mike Clayton
